Acting Workshops NYC- Improve Your Acting Skills Workshops

Acting Workshops Improve Your Acting Skills

Step 1
 Casting Director Workshops

Learn how to approach scenes, both figuratively and literally. Have the right attitude. Use your physicality to improve upon a scene.

Step 2

Use new acting techniques. Realize how important it is to incorporate the particulars of speech into each technique and scene. You should get as much as you can out of a workshop's covering of dialog delivery.

Step 3

Participate in acting exercises. Watch other, more seasoned actors perform. Listen to and participate in critiques.

Step 4

Have the instructor train you on the proper way to enter an audition. Get a grasp on how to perform monologues and deal with cold readings.

Step 5

Develop an understanding of ensemble acting. Know the importance of character relationships.

Step 6

Find out how to get the most out of rehearsals. Use rehearsals to refine your character.

Step 7

Cope with obstacles to good acting, such as stage fright. Learn how to use breathing exercises to help your performance and ease pre-performance stress.

Step 8
 Cold Read Workshops

Get career guidance from the instructor and other workshop participants. Know what you want to accomplish as an actor and have your instructor advise you on how to reach those goals.

The next Acting Workshops in NYC will be short intensive courses on script analysis and rehearsal techniques. These acting workshops will be the ADULT FALL WORKSHOP SERIES of 12 individual one-night workshops of various subjects during the Fall 2010. These commercial workshops will provide options for beginning and advanced actors to improve their acting skills.

These classes can be taken in any order. Classes run between 3 and 4 hours and students work in every class! No one ever just sits and watches. The goal is to develop a comprehensive set of acting tools to draw upon when approaching a role or a scene. As a result students acquire confidence, self-awareness, a strong creative spirit and professional work ethic. All the traits needed for an acting career.
